Synopsis:

 

 

This course provides students a dynamic and engaging them in computing Technology concepts in their personal, professional, and academic levels. It also introduced students to the basic concepts of computing including the components of the System Unit, Input and Output, Storage, the Operating Systems and Utility Programs, Communications and Networks, Database Management, Security of the Computers, The Internet, Information System Development, and Enterprise Computing.

Course Learning Outcomes

Upon finishing this course, the students should be able to:

  • Understand the basic computer concepts and the many components of a computer system (1)
  • Provides an exposure to students to the world of the Internet and the World Wide Web and applications (1)
  • Expose students to the many types of application software, programming languages that can be utilized in Information Systems Development (1)
  • Able to understand the management of organizational databases and the concept of Enterprise omputing (1)
  • Analyze a complex computing problem and to apply principles of computing and other relevant disciplines to identify solution (1)
  • Recognize professional responsibilities and make informed judgments in computing practice based on legal and ethical principles (4).
