FCITR has welcomed a
Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) delegation consist of Deputy Vice
Chancellor (Academic and International), Prof. Dr. Mohd Azraai Kassim,
and Executive Director, INSTITUTE SULTAN ISKANDAR (ISI), UTM, Prof. Dr.
Mohd Hamdan Ahmad on Monday, January 2, 2012 from 11 AM - 1 PM at
FCITR theatre.
The program began
with an introduction by the program chair, Dr, Burhanuddin Mohd
AbooBaider. This is followed by a Quran recitation by Abdul Majeed
AlQarni, an IS student. A welcome speech by the Dean, Dr Sami M
Halawani came next, praising the guests and delivering some FCITR
achievements. This is then supported by materials on FCITR brief history
by IS Chairman, Dr. Ab Rahman Ahmad, FCITR undergraduate curriculum
accreditation from IT Chairman, Dr. Samir Boucetta and FCITR current
research, delivered by CS Chairman, Dr. Daut Daman.
FCITR Vice Dean, Dr.
Omar Barukab conveyed a special tribute to FCITR members, talked on his
initial meeting with UTM Vice Chancellor and concerned about Strategic
Planning in seeking a collaboration with UTM. The most awaited UTM
presentation was delivered by Prof. Dr. Mohd Hamdan Ahmad, ISI Director
which emphasized on UTM in details and the opportunity to pursue the
study at Masters and Doctorate level. UTM corporate video was also
shown to the audience. In the Q&A session, the audience raised quite
a number of questions and he replied accordingly. In the closing notes,
Dr. Omar thanked everyone involved and hoped this is the beginning of
future mutual works. The program closed with the exchange of special
gifts from both FCITR and UTM.
