Educational Visit to Saudi Airlines, Jeddah

Eight students from FCITR – IT department, IS Chairman Dr. Ab Rahman and IS lecturer Dr Burhanuddin had an educational visit to Saudi Airlines, Jeddah today December 21, 2011. The briefing on IT communication and operations was lead by Saudi Airlines IT Service managers and field engineers, Mr. Homoud Ali Alyahya. This then followed by a more details presentations from Engr. Sadagah H. Najjar, Mr. Abdullah A.F. Yaghmour, Mr. Ibrahim M. Al-Musned, Mr. Omar M.A. Al-Qurashi and others. The useful information and experience on hardware, software, clients and cabling structures in the server and satellite communication rooms were well delivered.  The objectives of this visit are to strengthen and deepen the students understanding on System Administration and Maintenance, as well as to forge closer relationship between students, lecturers and corporate sectors. It is also for students to gain experience on arranging visit and enhance collaborative learning, outside the classroom. The Q & A session was in satisfaction as a clear explanation presented for the ones who seek a future career at Saudi Airlines.
