Educational Visit to Saudi Electrical Company, Jeddah

FCITR's
Students and staff managed to have an educational visit to data center,
network center and customer support center in Saudi Electrical Company,
Jeddah. There were 6 students, Omar Mohammad Altayyb Alhamawi, Abdullah
Ali Alzahrani, Abdullah Mohammed Alhuwaiti, Yousef Ahmed Aldhubaiban,
Khalifah Aloinzi and Nader Obeid Al-Thubity accompanied by a lecturer,
Dr Burhanuddin Mohd Aboobaider visited the company on 9 May 2012. Saudi
Electrical Company IT manager, Mr. Mohammed S Alammari, Mr. Abdullah Ali
Al-Falfi, Mr. Jefri and Mr. Aiman explain to our students about IT
administration, support and maintenance in their company. The purpose of
the visit is to strengthen and deepen the student’s knowledge on System
Administration and Maintenance, COIT411's course, as well as to forge
closer relationship between students, lecturers and outsiders. Also our
intentions are to train the students to organize the visit as well as
dealing with people outside the university. In general, we discovered
that the students got useful information about the hardware, software,
clients and monitoring devices in Data Center, Customer Service Center
and IT Communication room.
