SELECTION OF BEST MOBILE AD HOC NETWORK ROUTING PROTOCOL THROUGH PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS
|
A Mobile Ad Hoc Network is constructed by a set of self-configured mobile nodes or terminals, those are connected each other over wireless links without any infrastructure. MANET is used in calamity recovery where communication infrastructure is destroyed e.g. Floods, earthquakes, storms. It is also used in emergency circumstances where need temporary infrastructure e.g. in hospitals, war fields, crowd control etc. MANET can be easily deployed and self configured. So, Mobile Ad Hoc Network is highly adopted data communication network around the World. Lots of research work has been done in last ten years to find solution of problems and challenges regarding MANET routing. Since there are no dedicated access points or servers in MANETs, so routing is the main concern that researchers are focusing into this area. Several routing protocols have been proposed in the literature to tackle the routing problem. In this research, we are going to focus on the two most popular routing protocols i.e. OLSR and TORA. In essence, we will perform a comparative study of these protocols in terms of performance metrics i.e. control traffic overhead, end-to-end delay, network throughput, network load and media access delay
